Updated: Birdland event added.

The school year in Japan starts in April and Yune has just entered fifth grade. This month’s events will be her last as a 10 year-old as she turns 11 in May.

April 14th – Tokyo Idol Theatre

Yune’s monthly performance at the Tokyo Idol Theatre, the most prestigious venue for underground idols. Yune’s events here are always popular and she will appear twice this day. This is billed as the last junior solo event of Japan’s Heisei period (a new emperor will take the throne in May, which will begin the Reiwa period).

Junior Solo Singers Event

The first event has 18 young singers perform a song each. The doors open at 12:30 for a 12:40 start. Afterwards, at 14:10 goods sales will be held in the area outside the stage. You will be able to meet and get a picture with Yune and the other junior idols.

The second event is for Yune only and she will perform five or six songs. Her stage opens at 16:20, and ends at 16:55 Immediately afterwards she will run goods sales in the area outside the stage. You will be able to meet her, take pictures with her and buy goods.

Where: 8F Shidax Hall, Shibuya, Tokyo (map)

The Shidax Culture Hall is in a distinctive building very close to the famous Tower Records in Shibuya (on the opposite side of the road). The venue location is on the 8th floor. Exiting the elevator, the hall entrance is to your left. The area in front of and beyond the entrance is used for goods sales.

Tickets: There are no reservations for this event. However, you can buy advance tickets for Yune’s shows, or any of the other idols in the same venue that day from livepocket (wait and it will convert to English). Each show is 1000 yen except the solo singers event, which is 2000 yen. You can also buy front row seats or an all day pass (called an “A ticket”). First sale tickets are awarded by lottery, “secondary sales” will occur if the lottery sales don’t run out (get one of these if you don’t get an email confirming you won in the first sales). It’s a bit confusing but the hall doesn’t usually get full so you will not have a problem getting an ordinary ticket.

Each ticket has an “admission number” allocated at random and when the show starts they will call out numbers in order and you enter when your number comes up. If you don’t know Japanese, you will need to ask for help.

If the shows don’t sell out, you can buy a ticket on the door at the same price of 1000 or 2000 yen. People who buy on the door must wait until the end to enter, they will say “toujitsuken no kata” (day ticket people) when it is your turn.

You can take pictures and movies in Yune’s events. You cannot use flash, and must stand at the back if you want to use a tripod. Other events have different rules, translate the lineup page for details.

April 28th – Happy Party Live ❤️

Four young idol friends will appear in a special event in Shinjuku. Yune, Mirei, Sachi and Momorin are all solo idol specialists who meet frequently on the idol circuit. They have performed in events and collaborations many times and have a firm friendship. This is a special party event to welcome Sachi back to performance as she has only just returned after a long, difficult illness.

Momorin and Sachi

The event opens at 11:00 for an 11:30 start. There will be several solo and collaboration sections, ending at 15:10 when there will be goods sales and a chance to take your picture with the girls. Full schedule is on the official event page (Japanese)

Where: K&M Music, Shinjuku Store, Tokyo (map)
A cosy venue a short walk from Higashi-Shinjuku station (not the main Shinjuku station). The building is quite plain – look for the sign board outside the entrance. Inside space is tight – find an available chair. Don’t let this put you off – this is a venue when you are right next to the performers and it is relaxed and casual.

Tickets: 3000 in advance, 3500 yen on the door. In either case 500 yen drink on the door. The store owner will ask you what you want when you enter. Good value for such a long event. Photography / filming is usually allowed at this venue – follow the lead of the other audience members.

April 30th – Roppongi Birdland Event

Yune is always pushing to try new things so she will make an appearance at a cool Jazz bar in downtown Roppongi, Tokyo. A special “Singer Live” event, four female vocalists will sing a half-hour set each, with plenty of ballads and other vocally challenging songs. The other singers apart from Yune are Nana Ajima, Ruka Sakuraba and Hikari Taki.

When: April 30th, 2019

It may be that she will be able to run goods sales before the show starts. The doors open early so people can order food / drink and it might be good to arrive early, get settled and see if you can get a picture with Yune.
